It’s crazy to think back to what you thought your life was going to be like when you were a teenager - things like moving abroad definitely weren’t on my bingo card. 

I’m sure teen me would have questions, but I genuinely don’t have all the answers (especially for The Eras Tour - will probably never get over that 😭).
My 14-year-old self had no idea what was coming 😂

Somewhere between moving countries, missing the Eras Tour, and learning what a school catchment area is, things went a slightly different direction.

Turns out I spent my 20s trying to grow out of the Turns out I spent my 20s trying to grow out of the best parts of myself?!

The romanticising everything. The niche obsessions. The getting deeply attached to songs (mainly Taylor Swift) and places and moments. 

I tried to be more sensible, more grown up, and more sorted, but it did not take (or at least it did, until now).

I’m in my mid-30s now, with two kids, living in Yorkshire as the token American in my friend group, and slowly finding my way back to the girl I tried to leave behind.

If you want honest, slightly dry content about motherhood, identity, and figuring yourself out in a country that isn’t yours, follow along.
