20 Things I’m Looking Forward To This Autumn

Steve starts his new job today (ironically I have off of work for an American holiday today – just our …

Mamas, please don’t gate-keep 😂 I just booke Mamas, please don’t gate-keep 😂

I just booked a solo transatlantic flight with my 2.5 and 5 year old, and honestly, I’m feeling equal parts brave and crazy 🤪

If you’ve ever traveled alone with little ones (or even thought about it), you know this isn’t about snacks and screens (which I’ll obviously reach for first 😂). This is about the weird, oddly specific hacks that actually save your sanity somewhere over the Atlantic.

Like…putting post-its on the tray tables so your toddler can “decorate” instead of kick the seat? Packing a tiny spray bottle of lavender water for calming airport overstimulation? Giving them their own boarding passes just so they feel in charge?

I need your weird, wonderful, sanity-saving tips, so drop them in the comments.

And if you want to watch me try not to completely lose my mind prepping for this trip, hit follow and come along for the chaos. ✈️🧳🤪
I was a bit overly ambitious with my to-do list to I was a bit overly ambitious with my to-do list today 😬

Sometimes the hours between school drop off and school pickup fly by, sometimes they drag - but they’re pretty much always a bit of a blur.

Here’s a peek into what a typical Thursday looks like with my toddler while big brother is at school. They’re always admin days at home - catching up on things like laundry, working, and trying to entertain a toddler while doing it all.

Easier said than done 🤪

Lately, it’s felt like my brain has 37 tabs open - working from home, mum life chaos, and now prepping for two weeks in America with two wild boys 🫠

I was spiraling a bit today (you know that ragey, overstimulated, “don’t touch me” kind of mood?) - but wow, 30 minutes of moving my body made such a difference.

Nothing fancy. Just cleared the plastic dinosaurs out of the way, plopped my toddler in front of his tablet, and hit play on a @studioashpilates workout. That tiny window of time for myself made me feel so much more human again.

This season is loud, and messy, and full on - but little resets like this help me not completely lose myself in it.

It didn’t fix everything, but it softened the edge. And sometimes that’s enough. ❤️

What do you do when you feel the mum rage creeping in? Need inspo or want to vent? My comments are open, darlings👇

It would’ve been nice to have that massive built-in village - the drop-ins, the dinners, the extra hands.

But sometimes life takes you somewhere completely different - and you figure it out anyway.

We never had a huge village, but together we’ve made something just as strong.

👋 I’m Lauren - American mum of two, raising boys and rebuilding “me” in Yorkshire. Here you’ll find a whole lot of real life, self-discovery, and figuring it out one chaotic, beautiful day at a time. If this is your vibe, follow along for the ride ✌️
