I’d tell her that… 1️⃣ You’ll find navi I’d tell her that…

1️⃣ You’ll find navigating the healthcare system and maternity care overwhelming at first. Just ask loads of questions, lean on your midwives, advocate for yourself when you need to, and always seek support.

2️⃣ Homesickness will hit hard, especially in those postpartum moments. It’s okay to have little wobbles - accept those feelings and just ride them out. It doesn’t always go away, but it does get better.

3️⃣ You’ll feel lonely at first, not really having a village. But don’t worry, you get there - building a support system from scratch takes time. You’ll find your people.

I said it 🙊 I am my biggest critic when it com I said it 🙊

I am my biggest critic when it comes to this, if I’m honest. Any free time I have I tend to feel like every single minute of it should be dedicated to my children and entertaining them constantly.

I love being a mom and I love my boys, but that’s obviously just not sustainable.

My eldest is in primary school, but I am still with my toddler literally all day long while also working from home, with no childcare. I won’t lie when I say that the tablet or the TV is my go-to to get some work done or to get just 5 minutes of peace to drink my coffee while it’s hot.

I do hate it, but it’s the one guaranteed way that I can get that time that I need. Is it all the time? Of course not. They actually do play independently with their toys just as much, if not more, than they actually watch screens 🙌🏻

So someone tell me why I’m worrying so much?!

We’re all doing our best, and a little screen time doesn’t make you any less of an amazing parent. Let’s normalize giving ourselves grace on those tough days 🫶🏻

If you need a reminder that you’re doing great - whether you’re nailing it or just getting by - you’re in the right place 🥰
The irony? I don’t even say “Mommy” - I’ve The irony? I don’t even say “Mommy” - I’ve been out here saying “Mummy” like it’s second nature 😅⁣

Turns out, no matter how British my life looks, my American roots are still winning the long game 🇺🇸🇬🇧
