1️⃣ You’ll find navigating the healthcare system and maternity care overwhelming at first.  Just ask loads of questions, lean on your midwives, advocate for yourself when you need to, and always seek support.

2️⃣ Homesickness will hit hard, especially in those postpartum moments.  It’s okay to have little wobbles - accept those feelings and just ride them out.  It doesn’t always go away, but it does get better. 

3️⃣ You’ll feel lonely at first, not really having a village.  But don’t worry, you get there - building a support system from scratch takes time.  You’ll find your people.

Pregnancy and motherhood are wild rides, especially when you’re doing it far from home.  What is something you’d go back and tell your pregnant self? 🤰✨
The irony is I don’t even say “Mommy” - I’ The irony is I don’t even say “Mommy” - I’ve been out here saying “Mummy” like it’s second nature 😅⁣

Turns out, no matter how British my life looks, my American roots are still winning the long game 🇺🇸🇬🇧

If you’re wondering what that is, it’s “Fake Tan Friday” and yes I made it up. 

I live for these child-free mornings to myself. It’s so nice to have that time (and quiet) to chill for a bit.  I managed to get some jobs done, including clear out the car (you’re welcome, husband 😘). Also yes those are dozens of sick bags. Having a kid that gets car sick is great 🫠

Now, do you think the other parents will notice my rookie self-tan at pickup later…
